Inauguration Day

Post date: Jan 19, 2009 5:10:9 PM

Tomorrow is inauguration day for the 44th US president Barack Obama. While many people including myself are uncertain of the future of the United States (economy, security, jobs, health, international relations) which Obama will be forced to address during his four+ years in office, it is time to get behind the elected official and support any positive change that Barack Obama brings to our country. Whether you agree with Obama's perspectives or not, it is encouraging to see for the first time in a long time a US president reach out to the population and ask something, anything of its citizens. All people have in them the ability to change society for the better. Agreeing on what that future looks like it never easy, but this president is providing tools for the first time to allow each and every individual the ability to have a voice, to speak out, and to contribute to the agenda of the government.

I personally did not vote for Barack Obama, and I remain skeptical of his Kool-Aid infused speeches. But I am not a skeptic at heart and my reservations about Obama are related to the safety and well being of my family and friends and community. It is time to set aside differences, once and for all, and get behind a man that is beginning to prove that he has what it takes to make change in the US for the better.

OK Mr. President, together.. "yes we can!"

My favorite part of the site is a Q/A section using a newly released Google voting tool and YouTube video response. To use the Google Moderator application yourself go here http://moderator.appspot.com/

And finally, in this day and age of social technology the new president for the first time ever will be offering his "fire side chat" weekly address to the public via YouTube videos.
